With his parents coming from two islands, Malta and Puerto Rico, the ocean has always felt like a second home to Paul, and he is fortunate to have many special memories in the pristine waters of the Caribbean and Mediterranean. Food plays a significant role in both cultures, and he has been passionate about cooking since he was 8 years old. This passion for the ocean inspired him to pursue his own way of making an impact on ocean conservation, and his love for seafood steered his focus toward researching how technology can be leveraged to improve efficiencies in offshore aquaculture.
Paul graduated from Marist College with a double major in Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance, and Spanish. He worked at Bloomberg LP for six years in project management and sales before starting an MBA at Carnegie Mellon University. At Carnegie Mellon, Paul has leveraged the school’s strengths and vast network in AI and Robotics, exploring how these cutting-edge innovations can benefit aquaculture.
